A small travel size multi-port dock for your peripheral devices

Your new notebook computer probably lacks many of the ports that you had on your old machine. In fact some notebook computers only come with one open USB-C port and their manufacturer leaves it up to you to figure out how to connect all the peripherals you need using different dongle connectors.
At home you might use a large docking station which is too big for travel. The OWC USB-C Travel Dock E can give you many of the ports you had on your old computer or your current large docking stations in a very small package. This travel dock is physically a 3 1/8 inch square, 1 inch thick, block with 6 ports. See
photo 1-3. To use it your system must have at least one built-in USB-C port.
The included USB-C Power Pass Through Port is significant in its own right because it can deliver up to 100 watts to power and or charge the different devices that you plug into its ports. The HDMI 2.0 port allows you to connect your notebook to TVs and projectors at up to 4K resolution. The Gigabit Ethernet port will allow you to have the fastest internet speeds through a wired connection to your hotel or home router internet port. The SD card port is for full size SD cards so if you want to plug in a micro SD card you will need to use an adaptor. The only ports that I haven’t yet mentioned is the standard  USB-A port and this dock has two of them. You can actually run all of your accessories that are all plugged into these ports at the same time.

Reasons to Drool
OWC USB-C Travel Dock E gives you lots of connectivity in a rather small light weight package; it is a perfect travel accessory. The feature that impressed me the most was its one click Dock Ejector application that properly shuts down all the peripherals you have connected through the dock with a single mouse click. See image 4. To acquire this feature you need to download an OWC app to your Mac or PC.

Not so Cool
I would have liked OWC to have included a micro SD card slot. If it had one I would have given the product a perfect score.
